Meet the Staff
Dean Turvaville
Lead Pastor
Dean is married to Dezra and they have three adult children with one precious granddaughter and another grand baby on the way. Dean is the Lead Pastor of Sandia Church and is responsible for overseeing the teaching and ministries of the church. Dean’s desire is for absolutely everyone to know they are unconditionally loved by God. He wants everyone to feel welcome and comfortable at church whether it is their first time ever, or their first time in a long time. Dean encourages people connect to God and each other in everyday life.

Dean grew up in Clovis and has lived here most of his life. He works full time as a financial advisor during the week for a corporate investment company. He also volunteers at local charities that share God’s love in the Clovis area. Dean loves coffee, cars, and Dezra… but not necessarily in that order.
Cas, and her husband Daniel, have been leading worship together for over 10 years. They have 2 beautiful children and have a heart for the lost. Cas has served on worship teams all over the world, including her time as a missionary in Amsterdam.
Cas is originally from Clovis, but has lived in Texas most of her life. She works fulltime as a Middle School Special Education Teacher, and loves chasing her kids from sporting event to sporting event.
When she's not in a gym cheering on her kids, she's hanging at the lake with her family, or drinking coffee in a local coffee shop.

John Birkey
Associate Pastor
John has served as the Associate Pastor and resident college football enthusiast of Sandia since 2022. John has a heart for ministering to people by fostering a culture centered around Christ and encouraging people to grow in their knowledge of Him.
A native Texan, John moved to Clovis at a young age and has called it home ever since. Growing up in Clovis, John loves this community and has a strong desire to see it brought closer to God through fellowship, discipleship, and worship. He is supported in his ministry by his wife Hillary and their daughter. John’s passions include playing drums, watching Braveheart, and spending time with his family.
